Welcome to the NSICC
In Halifax, especially Bedford and Clayton Park area, the Muslim population has grown rapidly during the last decade and is expected to grow even faster in the coming years. The Muslim community in these areas were always concerned about performing their religious duties.
In January 1990, to fulfill the demand, some Muslim brothers and sisters contributed generously to purchase a piece of land (22 acres) located between Hammonds Plains and Larry Uteck Blvd. Later, the 8 acres of land for the Muslim Cemetery was donated as well.
Our Board of Directors
This association has a governing body of elected members that look after all affairs of the Association, Masjid, Cemetery, and the Muslim community of the surrounding areas. Also, NSICC serves as a community Center. The Center is committed to preserving an Islamic identity, building and supporting a viable Muslim community, promoting a comprehensive Islamic way of life based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing of Allah SWT be upon him.
